The GlobalEyes Network has been working with the New Brunswick ISP to develop their International Culture and Understanding Club concept, and on May 26th Paul Millman, Joyce Millman, and Lauren van Tol led a full day of in-person training for more than sixty Student Navigators and Teacher Advisors.
With sessions focusing on Cultural Awareness, Global Citizenship, Empathy, Communication, Role of Student Navigators, and Planning, students and teachers were introduced to the basic tenets of an ICU Club in order to begin development in their own schools.
Participants from this very engaged group had the following to say about the experience in their anonymous Exit Surveys:
“The training was a very useful and educational experience. I hope this training helps international students feel more comfortable.” – Training participant
“This training session was an amazing experience and a super fun way to talk about this program … and to bring more people together and out of their comfort zones.” – Training participant
“This is the beginning of something great.” – Training participant
“I feel really excited to be part of this club.” – Training participant
