The GlobalEyes Network Provides Global Citizenship Program Training in Calgary

May 8 and 9, 2025, saw CEO Paul Millman, and consultant, Joyce Millman, providing two days of training on the GlobalEyes Global Citizenship Program to eight schools and school boards from Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. Participants were GlobalEyes clients and those new to what the Network has to offer. Throughout the two days, the group learned the theoretical basis for the program, accessed the framework and development guidelines, and began the process of building and enhancing programs for their own schools or region. Following two full days of learning, growing, and activities, a few group members had the following feedback to share about the program and the training:

“Being new in my role as District Principal of International Education, I found the information and sharing to be invaluable. The idea of Student Navigators / Ambassadors supporting International student before they arrive, as they arrive and while they stay with us is brilliant!!  A great model that can inspire school district and their communities to welcome students from around the world to learn from and share in all that is great about Canadian culture, language and community.” – Larry Mattin, District Principal, International Student Education – Nanaimo, BC

“Attending the Global Citizenship Training was a truly enriching experience. The facilitators, Paul and Joyce, were outstanding—they brought the concept of global citizenship to life in a way that was both inspiring and practical. One of the most impactful aspects of the training was the introduction of a clear, thoughtful plan for implementing Student Navigators in our programs. These Canadian students will play a key role in welcoming international students, helping them feel at home, and supporting their transition to life in our Canadian city. I left the training feeling empowered, equipped, and excited to put these ideas into action.” – Patricia MacRae-Pasula, Managing Director – Red Deer Catholic International

“The Global Citizenship training was really helpful for us in our program.  We dabbled our toe in the water this year, but we have lots of room to grow and improve.  The training offered the “why” about the program and gave us many good concrete ideas to implement and improve upon in year two.” –  Darcy Mullin, District Principal, International Student Program – Okanagan-Skaha School District No.67
